The concept of high molecular compound was first introduced when a German scientist Schrodinger discovered a molecular compound that continued long in a line in 1920. The mother of plastic however, had already been synthesized industrially even before the concept of polymers. Before the German technology, France had reacted EDU and KOH and synthesized a new substance for the first time in 1835, and in 1907 an American scientist Bakelite discovered phenol resin ahead of the polymers. However, urea resin adhesives began to be industrially manufactured in Germany in 1918. At the initial stage of the industrialization of synthesized resins, thermosetting resin that was produced fueled by coals was at the center of everything. In 1920, as Schrodinger published the concept that high molecular compounds were polymers to which molecules had been joined, a research for the synthesis of polymers was actively conducted. In the 1930s, condensation-type straight chain polymers such as polyester and nylon were successfully synthesized. Afterwards, formation of polymers with 3-dimensional regularity under a low pressure was observed, so the low pressure polyethylene and polypropylene were industrialized. As the production research of PVC PASTE RESIN was embarked on in Bitterfield factory of Germany’s I.G. in 1931, what was produced as a result in 1983 in the product name of IGELRIT-P in the PILOT scale was the very first PASTE RESIN. That is why we say PVC PASTE technology originated from Germany. Until the breakout of World War 2, Germany had been the world’s largest patents holder, and is still honored with an image of science developer even though numerous scientists took asylum overseas. The purpose of PASTE RESIN of that time was the World War related materiel, but as an excellent PASTE RESIN was developed and released in the market after the World War, its usage was diversified and as starting from MOLDING, CASTING, DIPPING to SLASH MODLING, ROTATIONAL MODLING and foam formulation, new processing technologies were developed, the demand rose up rapidly. In 1950s, as Japan also entered the age of petrochemistry from the age of coal chemistry, plastic could be mass produced in cheap prices. Afterwards, together with the development of automobiles, electric and digital industry, engineering plastics have been developed as functional high-performance resins and are being industrialized.
